It’s now been nine months since I got the email that set my heart racing with excitement. Filming my recipes with the Grokker team and Loyd Grossman has been an absolute blast but this is the final video from me… for now anyway.
It’s only fitting to save the best until last so allow me to introduce my spiced duck with Asian style slaw. Imagine crisp, spicy duck skin giving way to the most tender duck breast. There’s a sticky, sweet, orange filled glaze to smother and dip as you please and the freshest slaw you’ll ever taste.
This dish looks so effortlessly good on a plate, even if you normally struggle with presentation, you can’t go wrong with this. The vibrant slaw on it’s own is an excellent mini recipe to have on hand to switch up regular salads, it will be perfect for barbecue season.
Umpteen duck breasts eaten, six glaze variations tested, temperatures tweaked, hours and hours of thought and the recipe was ready for filming.
You can watch the full episode here.
As with the my Seared Scallops recipe, if you click the heart button underneath the video, you’re casting a vote for me to win Grokker’s Food Blogger 2014 and putting a very large smile on my face!
For now at least, this is the final filmed recipe, but who knows, maybe I have something else up my sleeve. I really hope you enjoy the duck and if you do make it, please do let me know how you get on!
