Have you ever had Five Guys’ cajun fries? It might be a burger joint but the fries win it for me. They seriously coat them in layers of savoury flavour and a punch of spice. I love them so much that thoughts of their cajun seasoning were lodged in my brain. I just had to try and recreate it at home. Couple that with a recently purchased air fryer and I’m finding myself eating cajun fries far too often…
This copycat Five Guys cajun seasoning is really versatile. Throw it together and pop it in jars. Sprinkle over fries, rub on to a whole chicken before roasting, dust on steaks, mix with oil and brush on to fish or prawns, stir in to scrambled eggs. Mix in to mayo, transform plain rice or even jazz up a bloody Mary. So many options!
All you need is the spices and somewhere to store the seasoning. I found some tiny jars in the clearance section of Asda to store my spice blend in, but there are plenty of great offers out there like these mini kilner jars. All that’s missing is a cute label and you have an ideal gift for the food lover in your life. Maybe you know someone that loves Five Guy’s cajun fries as much as I do!

Yes this is amazing thank you! I LOVE those cajun fries. I actually went on a weird slightly tipsy mission to get my hands on some last Friday so this is great!

Used this as a rub for chicken wings and it was amazing! I did sub fennel for cumin because I didn’t have it.
I really hate to break it to you, but Five Guys used McCormick Cajun seasoning. Nothing special. They do fry their fries in peanut oil I think, so that might make them extra yummy, but the seasoning is unimaginative.

Is the measurement for fennel before or after grinding the seeds?
