Aloe vera juice has become a bit of an obsession for me. I can’t get enough.
It all began on a trip to Tesco where I spotted some tiny glass bottles of aloe and coconut water and slipped one in to the basket. Every time we went shopping after that, I’d pick one up and if Matt went alone, he’d bring me one as a treat. Then one day we went and they weren’t there. “Out of stock”, we assumed, but 4 months later they haven’t returned.
Morrison’s however have started to stock a range of Aloe vera juice from a brand called Taj Foods. There isn’t a coconut flavour yet, but there’s strawberry, passionfruit, lychee, mango, pomegranate and original. Like most aloe drinks, they have pulp in too which I love, but you might find it a bit unusual if you aren’t used to it.
The strawberry one tastes a lot like the red Mr Freeze ice poles that I remember loving as a child. You’d expect it to be loaded with sugar but it actually uses stevia leaf which is much much healthier.
Aloe juice apparently lowers cholesterol, aids digestion and fights inflammation alongside a host of other things. Sceptical as always, I’ve done my reading and it is actually proven to be effective in Ulcerative Colitis (here’s the research paper for that). That’s amazing stuff to hear, especially as I’m fighting an inflammatory condition myself. I’ve got the super strong prescription drugs but it makes me happier to know I can drink something all natural and really tasty to help things along.
There’s loads of research going in to the benefits of aloe vera at the moment, but for now it’s not advised if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or for those under 3 years.
I have a selection of Taj Aloe drinks to pass my addiction along. If you’d like to get your hands on some, just use the Rafflecopter widget below:

I’m currently working on an even better Aloe Vera drink which contains only fresh aloe vera pulp, peeled, chopped and into the bottle in an hour. No processed aloe vera and no powders. I’ll send you a bottle as soon as it arrives. 🙂

Certainly worth a try. You can’t taste the aloe at all through the Strawberry flavour but all the health benefits are still there
