This mug of mac & cheese is a lazy girl’s lunch. No pans to wash, just a mug full of rich and cheesy pasta.
And yes, before anyone states the obvious that is penne rather than macaroni. Not quite the same effect but it’s all I had to hand and what’s a quick lunch if you have to nip to the shops? Now time for the “how to”…
If you fancy giving it a go, loosely follow this:
100g pasta in a mug filled 1/2 way with hot water – microwave for 6mins.
(Tip: put in a bowl to catch any water that might boil over)
After the 6mins have a poke and see if it’s nearly done. If yes, awesome. If no, zap for another 2mins.
Drain any water off and add 1Tbsp of milk and about 80g grated cheese
Give it a good stir and microwave for another 30seconds or until the cheese has melted.
Top with a good sprinkle of freshly ground black pepper.
It’s ready!
Remember that timings might be different for your microwave but please let me know if you try it!
