I love a bit of kitchen gadgetry. Having the right tools makes things easier and let’s face it, we’re happier cooks if they look better too!
The Orb Pestle & Mortar by Joseph & Joseph
You expect to pay good money for a decent pestle & mortar but as far as looks go, they’re normally pretty non-descript. The Orb, £32, is certainly the most eye catching design I’ve seen. I’d say it’s even counter top worthy.
BasicKnives by Caroline Noordijk
A set of 3 knives designed to de-clutter your kitchen tools. Features a 6″ cooks knife with grater & herb scoop and a pair of small paring knives with a built in vegetable peeler and zester.
Meat Markers by Crate & Barrel
Well these are just so cute! I can imagine during BBQ season they’re pretty handy too. They’re £3.80 for 160 – maybe a good stocking filler for the steak lover in your life?
Folding Colander by Joseph & Joseph
At £16 this colander is sturdier than you’d imagine thanks to its 12 hinges and just for bonus points it’s dishwasher safe.
Safe Timer by Kikkerland
Unleash your inner spy, just £7.50 for this piece of kitchen geekery.
Coffee Joulies by Two Daves
Promising to bring your hot drinks down to the perfect temperature quicker and keep them there for an extra 3 hours, these little silver beauties are very clever indeed. They’re made from food grade stainless steel with an inner core of proprietart phase change material. Yes, it’s that impressive stuff that will keep your cuppa at a quaffable 140 degrees F.
