My exam is nearing and revision is starting to become very tiresome. I feel like the second I close my book I’ve forgotten it all again. My head is a jumble of medical information, some course related and some to do with my health – I’ll update you on that soon.
Being a real procrastinator, I figured now would be a good time to do the second half of my Happiness is 100 things post and chill out a little. You can read part one here if you haven’t already, otherwise I’m here with a cup of tea and ready to get stuck in. Let’s go…
- Thunder rolls and lightning flashes
- Wondering if you’re lost then turning the corner to realise you’re exactly where you needed to be
- That first crack in to a creme brûlée
- Noticing the flowers have opened and the garden is full of colour
- The smell of nutmeg (yes, I’m odd)
- Getting something out of the oven and knowing it’s perfectly cooked on your first check
- Unexpected non-occasion gifts, just because
- Summer drives with the roof down
- When animals sneeze
- Hearing Matt sing his heart out in the shower
- Seeing old couples strolling hand in hand
- Leaving a film/show and hearing the buzz of the audience as they compare notes
- Laughing so hard that you cry
- Surprise visitors
- Getting a tweet perfectly on the character limit with the first draft
- Burgers
- Winning a competition that you thought you had no chance in
- Getting ahead with work
- Soft paws on puppies
- Finishing an exam seconds before times up
- Crackling fires
- Hilarious typos/autocorrects
- Good gin
- Getting contact lenses in first try.
- Feeling like you know a song so well that you could rewrite it note for note
- Squeezing a cartoon perfect wiggle of sauce on to a hotdog
- Finding something you haven’t seen in a long time in the first place you look
- Feeling like you’ve made a difference to someone’s day
- New hair styles
- Reading bedtime stories to little ones
- Being reminded of something from your childhood that you’d forgotten about
- Strange coincidences
- Knowing every word of a film
- Kind strangers
- Waking up to snow
- Underestimating the amount of money in the loose change jar
- Being unintentionally funny
- Filling the room with the smell of a candle
- Chopping veggies really fast – you ninja
- Cold drinks that you feel go all the way down
- Picking up your phone just as a text comes through
- Christmas Eve excitement
- Being wrapped up warm to watch the fireworks
- Jeans that fit just right
- Hard work paying off
- Hearing song lyrics that feel like they’ve been written about that moment
- Last minute plans
- Sinking achy muscles in to a warm bath
- Getting the bigger ‘half’
- Laughing so hard no sound comes out
Ahh… that feels better. Do any of them make you happy too?
This tag originally came from Mrs Bishop’s Bakes so if you fancy taking part, pop over there to find out more. If you do take part, please leave me a link in the comments – I’d love to read yours!

Aw, what a lovely positive post. I agree with so many of them! I love no. 12 – something I’d never really thought of before but so true!
Good luck with your revision – my university finals were in May and I have not forgotten what it feels like!
Rachel 🙂 xx

You should do your own list Rachel – I’d love to read it 🙂
This is only my first year of Open Uni so I’m not 100% sure what to expect in my exam. I can imagine I’ll be much more nervous for finals!

Brilliant list! Agree with most of them, especially the perfect cartoon squiggles on food. “How did I manage to do that so perfectly?” LOL The whole list made me smile. 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed reading it Dawn. That’s the kind of stuff you only get right when you aren’t concentrating – so frustrating if you try to do it again

Umm I kind of think we are the same person! I love all of those things. It’s so refreshing to read a post like this as it makes you think of the more positive things of life. xxx

Nutmeg is a wonderful scent! It makes me happy as we went to Grenada on honeymoon and the scent was everywhere! The dried shells of the fruit were used instead of gravel on many pathways–it was pretty intense.
