Whenever I hear about subscription boxes I sigh a little. They always seem a lot of money for “luxury samples” of things you probably won’t use. The wonderful people at Flavr Box sent me one of their tasting boxes to try and my god, I take those words back.
Flavr Box is about good independent food, delivered to your door for you to try new things that you wouldn’t find in the Supermarket. They have various subscriptions packages starting from £10 (with the code below), they’ll send you 5/6 hand picked, award winning foods and the story behind them. These aren’t “luxury samples” either, they’re full, retail size items.
So, on to the contents (left to right):
Are you drooling yet? I have big plans for the tapenade & chorizo so alongside the curry, they’ll be getting a post to themselves (keep your eyes peeled). The Wild West nuts however, have already been opened:
Just look at them! If you’re not familiar with the term, a “sundowner” is the drink or snack that you toast the day with and take a little time out with family or friends to reflect and chill. I totally get that concept, but I could eat these nuts all day long! They’re sweet, spicy, just the right amount of crunchy and utterly moreish.
The Olive Branch Forest Fruits Jam smells wonderful but it’s a bit too sweet for my liking. I think I’d enjoy a spoonful mixed in to Greek yoghurt though. I’m under instructions to keep this at my Parent’s house for my Dad!
I’m going to be ordering a couple of subscriptions as gifts this Christmas. If any of my followers want to try a box, the code HALFPRICE2012 will get your first box for £10. Otherwise, all the contents are available to buy from their online shop here.
