I can officially say, that we’ve finally finished our bathroom renovation. I can’t bear to count the months that have passed between when this project started and now, but this weekend when we put the finishing touches in, it was worth it a million times over. So naturally, the question now is which room is next?
We haven’t figured out the answer yet, but I’m gravitating towards our living and dining room, because that’s where we spend the most time and it’s quite a large room to tackle. Here are some of the things I’ve been pinning lately for this room:
This is my first time using the new pinterest widgets, is it working for you? If you’d rather I went back to just including a few photos in posts like this then let me know in the comments. To see more or view them in a larger size, just hit the ‘see on Pinterest’ bar at the bottom.
Follow Vicki Higham’s board A room to live in on Pinterest.
You’ll probably already know about my obsession with grey so I’m sure the colour scheme won’t surprise you. Matt is currently using that to his advantage to convince me we need a snazzy Sony TV, just because ‘it’s silver so it will go really well in the room’. He knows all the right things to say!
On to the big dilemma… right now we have pine floors right through but should we go for a carpet? Winters are cold in that big open room and despite my love for wooden floors, I can’t help but feel that a carpet would make it cosier. Something like the Jasmine loop from Carpetright would fit well, but would I get bored of it too soon? The other option is to go for a big area rug like this Chicago geometric one (first row of the board). Then at least it could be changed without quite as much outlay.
I think I need your help on this. Have you ever carpeted over solid wood floors, do you miss them? Did you notice a temperature difference from doing it?
This post was created in collaboration with Carpetright. They heard of my dilemma and asked me to discuss it with you – I hope you can help!

Oooh go for the rug! Much easier to swap round (and probably cheaper!). Wooden floors are so gorgeous, it’d be a shame to cover yours up 🙂 xx

I really like the table int he middle. Adds some edge and charm to the board. Grey is my favourite as well. Gray and a few elements of blue is what we’ve done in our living room. Looking forward to seeing the outcome
