Honey Syrup

Ingredients
  • 1 part Honey
  • 1 part Water
  • Optional extra flavours:
  • Thyme
  • Lemon
  • Orange
  • Ginger
Method
  1. In a saucepan on a low heat, add the honey and water, slowly heating until all the honey has dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
  2. Pour in to a clean jar or bottle.
  3. To play with the flavour try adding thin slices of lemon, orange, ginger, or a few sprigs of herbs whilst heating. Remove before bottling.
Notes
Use in place of sugar syrup in cocktails, as a sweetener in herbal teas, a flavour syrup in coffee, try a spoonful as a sore throat soother, make an instant hot toddy in a mug, pour over pancakes, drizzle over cakes, stir in to greek yoghurt.
